The Beagle Harrier is a rare breed of dog known for its powerful hunting drive and sharp sense of smell. The scenthound is native to France and is thought to either be a cross between Harriers and Beagles or a breed derived from the now-extinct Southern Hound.
Displaying a sweet and friendly temperament, Beagle Harriers are typically very good with children and other pets and are loyal and calm at home. They are medium-sized dogs weighing between 42 to 46 pounds in adulthood and have coats featuring the colors white, black, tan or fawn. Usually healthy, Beagle Harriers enjoy a life span of 12 to 13 years.
