To bathe a rabbit, fill a basin with lukewarm water and a drop of baby shampoo. Gently scrub the rabbit in the basin with a cloth. Wrap the rabbit in a towel, and keep him in a warm place to dry.
- Prepare the bath
Fill a shallow basin with warm water and a small amount of baby shampoo. Get a soft rag or small towel, as well as a large towel for drying.
- Hold the rabbit
To provide a sense of security, enlist a second person to cradle the rabbit while you bathe him. Make sure the person supports the rabbit's bottom with a steady hand.
- Bathe dirty areas
Never immerse a rabbit directly in water. Instead, moisten the washcloth, and gently massage the rabbit's dirty spots. If you must place the rabbit in the basin, make sure the water line doesn't surpass the rabbit's stomach, and support the rabbit's front legs to keep his head upright.
- Dry the rabbit
Don't vigorously dry your rabbit. Wrap the rabbit in a towel, and keep him in a warm place until his fur is completely dry. Reward the rabbit with a treat after each bath to give the experience a positive association.
