Numeric skills are the skills used to understand and solve questions that are mathematical in nature. Numeric skills are used to reason out and apply numerical concepts to problems.
Also known as numerical reasoning ability, numeric skills exist in most children even before their education. Numeric skills affect many skills, but the most common are basic arithmetic operations, the ability to perform estimates, geometry and statistics.
Numeric skills are considered to be largely innate and separate from formal mathematical education. Fundamental numeric skills include the ability to understand time, measurement and estimation. Without numeric skills, a person struggles to understand such daily things as working with patterns and functions to solve problems.
