Use a garment steamer to get rid of wrinkles from a suit. Steaming smooths wrinkles out from all types of fabric. You need a garment steamer, clothes hangers and a steamer pressing board to steam a suit.
- Fill the steamer with water
Fill the garment steamer with water. Connect it to an electrical outlet and flick the switch on. Allow the water to heat.
- Hang the suit
Hang the suit from a clothes hanger. If the steamer has its own hook, hang the clothes hanger on it.
- Use the steaming wand
Start with the jacket. Place the steaming wand close to one section of the jacket. Work the wand in an up and down movement. Continue to work on the same section, until all the wrinkles are smoothed out. Use the same technique on different sections of the jacket.
- Steam the lapel
Place a steamer pressing board behind one lapel. Bring the steaming wand in front of the lapel. Work the wand in an up and down motion. Repeat the procedure on the other lapel.
- Steam the back of the jacket
Steam the back of the jacket by using the same technique.
- Steam the pants
Fold the legs of the pants sideways, to form a crease at the front and back. Hang the pants on the hanger by the waistband. Hold the steamer near the waistband. Move the steamer in an up and down motion until all areas of the pants are wrinkle-free.
- Let the suit dry
Switch off the steamer. Allow the suit to dry in an airy place.
