A wiring schematic for Trane gas furnaces can be found on the Product Literature portion of the manufacturer's website, as of March 2015. Consumers select the model they want on the page, and then view the appropriate manual in a PDF format.
Customers narrow the search by product type, product name and literature type. Selecting All on each of those menus produces a long list of every manual available in English. If the consumer knows the first four digits of the furnace's model number, the search gets narrowed further. Wiring diagrams are found in installation operation maintenance, or IOM, manuals.
Wiring diagrams are generally found towards the back of these manuals, after the troubleshooting guide. Each diagram shows how wires are connected to the thermostat, motors, switches and relays. The thermostat wiring guide is separate from the main wiring diagram.
Trane manuals are approximately 50 to 60 pages long for gas furnaces. PDF files for manuals are typically 3 to 5 megabytes in size. If a person needs an older manual that is not on the site, Trane suggests contacting a local dealer or installer. The Trane website has manuals for more than a dozen of the company's gas furnace models.
