Turn off the power supply to the boiler either by turning off an electrical switch or by shutting off the circuit breakers connected to the boiler. Uncover the control box of the zoning system. It is located on a wall near the boiler. The connection terminals in the control boxes are often labelled by the manufacturers so that the person wiring can make the appropriate wire connections with greater ease.

The control box has a transformer to carry power between the thermostat and the zone valves. Wire one terminal of the transformer to the thermostat and connect the first terminal of the zone valve operator to the other terminal of the thermostat.

Connect the second terminal of the transformer to the second terminal of the zone valve operator. Connect the second terminal of the zone valve operator to the boiler terminal and the third terminal of the zone valve operator to the other terminal of the boiler. Wire any extra zone valves as per the manual. Connect the transformer to the control box. Switch on the power to the boiler.
