What Are Some Ways to Repair Rubber?

When fixing a rubber product, such as an off-road tire sidewall, hose or conveyor belt, one of the ways to repair it is to patch it with an elastomeric polymer composite. Another way to repair rubber is to use a self-fusing silicon rubber tape such as X-Treme Tape.

A polymer, such as Flexiclad ER, does not need a primer and cures at room temperature. There is no heat needed when using the product and it can also seal and caulk surfaces. X-Treme Tape works as an insulator, with an ability to insulate 8,000 volts per unstretched layer. It can also repair plumbing, vents and a car's radiator. Some people even use it for sports and tool grips.
