Launder Thermasilk underwear according to the directions on its label or as is appropriate for any silk garment. The process starts by hand washing it in cold water with a mild soap. After you rinse it well, blot it and allow it to air dry. You need a clean sink or basin, a towel, non-alkaline soap and 15 minutes to launder your Thermasilk underwear.
- Hand wash the garment
Fill a clean basin or sink with cool water, and add a few drops of baby shampoo or a mild soap. Don't use detergents since they damage silk. Add the clothing, and gently agitate the water using your fingers. Allow the garment to soak from three to no more than five minutes.
- Rinse the garment
Fill the sink or basin with very cold water, and add a tablespoon of white distilled vinegar to break down the remaining soap to prevent it from breaking down the silk. Submerge the garment in the water until it rinses clean, and remove it promptly.
- Blot the excess moisture with a clean towel
Don't wring or twist silk to avoid damaging it. Lay it on a clean towel, and smooth out any wrinkles. Roll the towel from the bottom up, and apply gentle pressure as you roll to squeeze the water from your garment. Lay the underwear flat on a drying rack, or hang it up to dry.
