To design a virtual home, use the home design functionality on an online service such as Autodesk Homestyler to create a floor plan, add doors and windows, and decorate with furniture. The only requirement is to use a Web browser that features Flash support, such as Google Chrome.
Navigate to HomeStyler.com, click on the Create New Design link, and click on the Get Started Now button once the application loads. To create a floor plan, select the Rooms, Walls & Areas category from the drop-down menu, and use the drag-and-drop functionality to add the desired rooms, room additions, interior walls and floor areas to the main section. Rotate individual elements by clicking on them and dragging the button with the rotation arrow in the desired direction. To modify the shape of a room, click on any wall, and drag it.
To remove a specific wall, add a wall opening or create a split, click on the desired wall, and select the appropriate option from the context menu. Once the floor plan is complete, choose the desired entries from the Furnish and Decorate categories to finalize your home design. To create a snapshot or a 360-degree panorama of your design, sign in with an existing account, or create a new one, click on the Snapshots button, and select the Basic Snapshot, High-Resolution Snapshot or 360 Panorama option. To save the home design, click on File, and select the Save option.
