To remove wrinkles from clothing using vinegar, dilute vinegar with water, then pour the mixture into a spray bottle. Lightly spray the wrinkled areas, then let the clothes air dry.
- Mix vinegar and water
Add three parts water and one part vinegar to a spray bottle. Shake the bottle vigorously to completely mix the ingredients.
- Test an area of the fabric
Check the care label on the garment to determine if the fabric is too delicate. Spray a small amount of the vinegar and water mixture on an inconspicuous part of the wrinkled garment. Let the garment dry for a few minutes, then inspect the fabric for discoloration. If the vinegar mixture has a strong odor, try adding more water to dilute the mixture further.
- Spray the garment
Hang the garment so that it is easier to spray. With the spray bottle 1-foot away, spray the wrinkled areas only, using a washcloth to block the areas that are not wrinkled. Gently pat the wrinkled areas with a clean washcloth. Do not rub the vinegar mixture into the clothing. Wait at least 15 minutes, then check to see if the wrinkles have started to disappear. If not, spray the garment again. Allow the garment to air dry completely before repeating the process a third time.
