To use an electric crepe maker, either prepare the batter and dip the griddle in the dipping pan or use a pastry spreader to spread a thin layer of batter over the griddle. The method of cooking depends on whether the crepe maker is a dip and flip model or a skillet model. Refer to the owner's manual for model-specific instructions.Continue Reading
In order to use a dip and flip model:
Wipe the surface with a damp cloth and dry it. Plug in the unit and turn the power switch on. Wait until the red light turns off.
Follow a crepe batter recipe and pour the batter into the dipping tray, taking care not to overfill it.
Pick up and turn over the crepe maker, and then lightly dip and swirl it into the dipping tray. Flip the unit upright and return it to the base.
The crepe is ready once the edges start to brown. Flip the crepe maker over a plate and use a plastic utensil to remove the crepe if necessary. Repeat this process until the batter is gone.
In order to use a skillet model:
Wipe the cooking surface with a damp cloth and then dry. Plug in the unit and wait 10 minutes for it to preheat.
Follow a crepe recipe to prepare the batter. Then scoop enough batter onto the cooking surface to cover approximately 2/3 of the area.
Use a pastry spreader to spread the batter into a thin layer across the cooking surface. After about 45 seconds, flip the crepe and cook it for another 45 seconds. Then remove the crepe and repeat the process until the batter is gone.
