John Deere 9000 Series tractors generally receive positive reviews from agricultural analysts. However, John Deere garden tractors and mowers receive less positive user reviews, as of 2015.
Analysts agree that the 9000 series' updated technology provides more features and increased power with each model year. The 2015 John Deere 9620R comes standard with 400 gallons of on-board fuel and 22 gallons of diesel exhaust fluid, and it is powered by a fuel-efficient 18-power shift transmission with Efficiency Manager electronic controls.
The 9620's HydraCushion Suspension technology allows for a smoother ride by reducing the bouncing and hopping a traditional tractor makes crossing uneven fields and roads. The ActiveCommand Steering option is another example of John Deere's technological advancements. ActiveCommand makes handling the larger tractor easier for the driver with its drive-by-wire steering system.
Compared to Husqvarna and Craftsman, John Deere lawn tractors rate relatively well in consumer reviews. Users rate John Deere lawn tractors and mowers high for features and performance. However, the same users give the equipment a lower rating for build quality, value and reliability. Of the top five mowers compared at HomeOwl.com, the John Deere D155 rated second. It came in behind the Simplicity Prestige garden tractor and ahead of the Craftsman 22-horsepower riding lawn mower, the Husqvarna YTH24K48 and the Husqvarna YTH26V54.
