Home owners often use style types to help narrow their choices before looking for specific options. Basic and classic categories come with minor decoration, and compliment many different room models. Modern styles fit well with austere styles that offer little decoration. Traditional options work well in spaces with more ornamentation. Transitional designs are intended for spaces that combine different styles.
Common light types include bowl, globe and shade. Bowls either press right up against the ceiling or against a fixture that holds the electrical connections for the fan and light. Globes are either set into ceiling fixtures or at the end of metal arms. Shades come both attached to arms and in ceiling fixtures. Bowl and globe type fixtures typically use one to four bulbs, while shades use three to five bulbs.
Fixture finish types include bronze, brushed nickel, finished nickel, black and white. Available glass styles include clear, frosted and patterned. Most fan lighting kits offer up or down lighting, but some offer both options.Learn more about Heating & Cooling
