Wheel Horse is a brand of riding lawn mowers and lawn tractors. The brand's standardized parts allow owners to rebuild old models, and genuine Wheel Horse parts are readily available online.
Wheel Horse started manufacturing lawn mowers in 1946 and continued as a private business until founder Cecil Pond sold the brand to the American Motors Corporation in 1975. Toro acquired the Wheel Horse brand in 1986 and discontinued production of Wheel Horse brand tractors in 2007. Although no longer manufactured, the Wheel Horse brand remains beloved by collectors, as evidenced by the formation of the Wheel Horse Collector’s Club in 1999.
