Troubleshoot and repair an Ionic Breeze air purifier by checking the color of the light at the top of the unit, cleaning the collection grid, checking the UV light for problems or identifying transformer or circuitry issues. Bring the appliance to a service center if electrical repairs are needed.
Although the light at the top of the air purifier is normally amber in color, it turns red if there is a problem with the unit. A dirty collection grid is the most common problem that affects Ionic Breeze units, reducing the device's effectiveness. Clean the collection grid by taking it off the unit and wiping it with a damp cloth. If the appliance is no longer glowing blue, this indicates that the germicidal protection mode may not be functioning. This often results when the UV light goes out or weakens. Replace the bulb to see if the problem resolves.
If the unit does not work at all when it is plugged in and turned on, there may be an issue with the unit's circuitry or transformer. These issues may require repairs on the inside of the appliance, which carries a risk of electric shock. These types of repairs should be left to a professional.
