The tools required to repair a Moen single-handle faucet are a Phillips and a regular-headed screwdriver, an adjustable wrench, a flashlight, pliers, plumber's putty, thread seal tape and an Allen wrench. Any additional tools required to repair a Moen single-handle faucet are usually listed on the faucet's packaging.
Most Moen single-handle faucets operate using a cartridge. This cartridge, or the plastic o-rings that encircle the cartridge, are normally the causes of a dripping faucet.
Remove the plastic spanner cap located on the top of the handle to access the cartridge. Pull the cartridge free of the handle. Many times the cartridge requires a significant amount of force to remove it. Take the cartridge to a local hardware store to correctly identify a replacement.
