One of the tips for installing ceiling tiles is to lay out the ceiling grid on a piece of paper. Measure the ceiling and sketch the grid on paper to get a clear idea of how the components go together. Another tip is to choose the appropriate installation method.
Use graph paper for easier sketching of the ceiling grid. Graph paper has equal-size panels and allows for more accurate measurements. The tiles may be installed by nailing the tiles to wooden furring strips, by using adhesive or by attaching the tiles using metal tracks and metal clips. Some tiles also come with tongue-and-groove edges for easier and more secure application.
