One example of decorating with swag curtains has lengths of striped satin and silk taffeta twisted together over a picture window to form the swag, while the draperies are allowed to puddle on the floor. In another example, gauze swags embellished with gauze rosettes are hung over tall windows.
The delicacy of the swags is highlighted by the ruffles at the hems of the draperies and ropes of clear crystals that follow their curves.
Another decorating idea has lengths of a more substantial fabric draped over curtain rods with finials. The swags are also edged with small pompoms. One side of the fabric is then allowed to hang to the floor, while the other is artfully arranged to hang only to the middle of the window frame.
