Cleaning and descaling a Keurig calls for some very simple supplies, as reported by Snapguide. These include a large paper clip, 48 ounces of white vinegar, a coffee mug, a toothbrush, a soft microfiber cloth, dish washing liquid or detergent, and an all-purpose cleaner.
A large, straightened paper clip cleans the holes in the needle in the upper part of the K-cup holder, according to Snapguide. Running white vinegar through the brewer a minimum of four times cleans the tubes and valves inside the machine. The coffee mug catches the brewed vinegar, which is discarded. The K-cup holder, drip tray, drip tray cover, and reservoir are removed and cleaned by hand using dish washing liquid and a toothbrush, or placed in the dishwasher. The lid to the reservoir should be cleaned by hand, according to Clean My Space. A damp, soft microfiber cloth or an all-purpose cleaner should be used to clean the spaces around the K-cup holder and the body of the brewer.
