To obtain service for a Samsung microwave that is still under warranty, as of 2015, customers can either call 1-800-SAMSUNG or fill out the online service request form. Under the terms of the warranty, service can only be performed by a Samsung authorized service center.
The majority of Samsung over-the-range and in-home countertop microwave models come with the same standard warranty. This limited warranty covers all parts and labor necessary to repair any defects in workmanship or material for the first 12 months from the date of purchase. A 10-year limited parts and labor warranty also covers the microwave magnetron.
In order to obtain warranty service, it is necessary to show the original bill of sale as proof of purchase. All parts and products that are repaired or replaced by a Samsung authorized service center continue to be covered under the remaining original warranty. If there are less than 90 days left on the original warranty, then the repairs are covered for 90 days from the date of repair.
The warranty only covers damage or defects that occur during normal, non-commercial use of the product. A full list of the types of damage that is not covered is available in the product's written warranty, which is available on the Samsung website.
