LG Direct Drive dishwashers eliminate the machine's belt and pulley to increase motor efficiency, decrease energy consumption, reduce noise level and prevent potential breakdowns. Other features include a 10-year warranty on Direct Drive motor parts, an increased capacity and a third-height adjustable rack.
Direct Drive dishwashers are ranked from A++ to A+++ Energy Efficiency Class, with the most efficient machines using just nine liters of water to wash 14 place settings. The slim design of the Inverter Direct Drive Motor also provides these dishwashers with 10 additional liters of space. This allows users to wash oversized dishes and makes room for LG's third rack, which is ideal for washing espresso cups, utensils and other small items.
As of 2015, all Direct Drive dishwashers also feature SmartRack technology with adjustable baskets that provide increased flexibility for users. Dishwashers with True Steam technology use gentle steam to remove baked-on stains without damaging them or using a preliminary rinse. The Dual Steam Spray allows users to clean heavily soiled dishes and delicate glassware in a single load, and the Direct Drive Load Detection feature of certain models weighs each load of dishes to select the perfect water consumption, wash time and rinse time for increased efficiency.
