The easiest way to paint onto a clear glass vase or any kind of clear glass is to use a special paint for glass. This can include acrylic enamel paints, which can take up to 2 weeks to dry, acrylic paints, which may need to be baked to set, or solvent-based paints. These paints can be bought at many craft stores or online.
First, it is important to clean the glass. For this, dish soap, powder-less latex or surgical gloves, paper towels and rubbing alcohol or white vinegar is necessary.
The next step is to wash the glass with soap and water, making sure to remove any dirt, dust or grease, rinsing the glass after cleaning and left it air dry.
The consumer should put on gloves once the glass is dry, which will stop the skin's natural oils from leaving marks on the glass.
Next, the user should apply vinegar or alcohol to a paper towel and wipe the glass to remove any film of soap, allowing it to air dry for about 15 minutes.
It is possible to trace an image by taping a paper image to the inside of the vase. The image should be viewed through the glass and the outline copied as needed. To keep it close to the edge of the vase, it is possible to fill the vase with a soft fabric, such as old socks, which will help keep the image in place.
