As of 2015, countertop bread machines are available from appliance manufacturers such as Hamilton Beach, Zojirushi, Sunbeam and Panasonic. These companies produce compact models that are designed for home use and typically bake 1- or 2-pound loaves.
Manufacturers design some home bread machines to have more height than width, which conserves counter space in smaller kitchens. Most models offer digital programming, enabling features such as timed, delayed or rapid baking. Many bread machines also support multiple bread textures and sizes or can be used for other foods, including pasta, cookies and rolls. For ease of use, manufacturers often include convenience features such as nonstick baking pans, sample cookbooks and yeast dispensers.
