Skid steers are used for a variety of construction, demolition and landscaping projects, particularly jobs that require digging, lifting or moving. Larger skid steers are common at building sites because of their higher power, while smaller skid steers with better maneuverability are useful for landscaping and gardening jobs.
The capabilities of a skid steer depend largely on its size and rated operating capacity. Skid steers with higher operating capacities have higher horsepower and can take on jobs that require lifting extremely heavy loads, and they are also bigger in size. Smaller skid steers have less horsepower but are often preferred because they are a better size for small job sites.
