To use OxiClean to remove lipstick stains, the cleaner is typically diluted in hot water and applied to the stained area. The stain removal process can take several hours, and the process of treating the stain may be used repeatedly to completely eliminate the color left by the lipstick.
- Remove excess lipstick from the clothing
Gently scrape any excess lipstick off the clothing with the dull edge of a knife.
- Mix the OxiClean solution
Use the directions on the package to mix the recommended amount of OxiClean with hot water. Stir the mixture until the OxiClean has fully dissolved.
- Test the garment for colorfastness
Place a small amount of the OxiClean solution on a hidden seam, and allow the mixture to remain on the garment for 15 minutes before rinsing. If the color of the garment does not change, proceed with the stain removal process.
- Treat the stain
Apply the OxiClean solution to the stain, and allow the cleaner to remain on the garment for up to 10 minutes. The garment may also soak in enough water to cover the garment and the recommended amount of OxiClean for up to six hours.
- Wash the garment as usual
Wash the garment as recommended on the care label.
