You can set the day and time on a Lux 500 thermostat and program it with personal settings by manipulating the system switch, programming dial, up and down buttons, and Next button. Alternatively, you can set the thermostat with its default Energy Star settings by pressing the Software Reset button.
To set day and time on a Lux 500 thermostat, rotate the programming dial to Set Day/Time, use the up or down button to locate the correct day of the week, push Next, use the up or down button to locate the precise time, and rotate the programming dial to Run. Press the Software Reset button to set the default environmentally friendly temperature settings, and review the settings by rotating the programming dial to Set Weekday, Saturday or Sunday Program. Some Lux 500 thermostat models program Saturday and Sunday separately, while others program the two weekend days together. The weekday and weekend programs are divided into morning, day, evening and nighttime periods.
To initiate individual programming, set the system switch to Heat or Cool, rotate the programming dial to Set Weekday Program, adjust the morning timing by pushing the up or down buttons, push Next, adjust the desired temperature by pushing the up or down buttons, and push Next to go on to the following time period. Repeat the procedure for each time period and for the weekend schedule. When the programming is finished, rotate the dial back to Run.
