Both styles are available with glass doors and ENERGY STAR certifications. Technology featured in washing machines includes automatic detergent dispensers, self-cleaning, self-diagnosis and digital controls.
Lowe’s is home to more than 100 ENERGY STAR-certified washing machines. Energy-saving features include larger capacities to clean more clothes in fewer loads and adaptive technologies that adjust settings based on each load. The retailer offers both commercial and consumer models, and manufacturers include Whirlpool, Samsung and Maytag.
Sears carries approximately 15 washing machine brands, including GE, LG and Kenmore, and it has a wide range of stackable washing machines. Most have a capacity between 4 and 4.5 cubic feet, although capacities as small as 2 cubic feet and as large as 5.6 cubic feet are available. The store carries dozens of high-efficiency models, and some models have convenient specialty cycles.
