Bosch appliances are available from numerous retailers, including Sears, Best Buy and Lowe's. Bosch produces a wide range of home appliances, including dishwashers, cooktops, ranges, refrigerators and laundry machines. They also produce built-in wall ovens, microwaves, warming drawers and kitchen ventilation systems.
Bosch appliances are manufactured by the Bosch Home Appliances Group, which is headquartered in Munich, Germany. Bosch is the world's third largest manufacturer of appliances and has been selling their German-engineered products in the United States since the early 1900s. The company's U.S. headquarters are in Irvine, California, and they also operate an appliance park in New Bern, North Carolina, where they have state-of-the-art factories for the manufacturing of cooktops, ranges, ovens and dishwashers.
The company's founder, Robert Bosch, established his first manufacturing workshop in Stuttgart, Germany, in 1886. The company then established its first subsidiary in the United States, the Bosch Magneto Company, in New York City in 1906. Then in 1912, Bosch opened its first factory in the United States, which was based in Springfield, Massachusetts. However, Bosch didn't start to produce home appliances until it debuted its first refrigerator in 1933. The company then continued to release new appliances throughout the 1950s and 60s, including its first food processor, freezer and washing machine.
