Second-hand appliances are used or previously owned pieces of equipment designed for domestic use in homes. This includes, but is not limited to, stoves, refrigerators and washing machines.
Many charity organizations and large nonprofit thrift store chains take donations of secondhand appliances. They are then resold in nonprofit thrift stores or gifted to families and individuals in need. Most of these places pick up secondhand appliances for donation, so moving and delivery are not an issue for the giver.
Some people sell their secondhand appliances for scrap metal. Others sell them through online outlets and classified ads to generate a profit.
