To get rid of flea bites, apply a cooled, freshly brewed green tea bag directly on the bite. Once initially treated, cover flea bites with a mixture of lavender oil and basil oil until the itching and inflammation is gone.
- Brew green tea bags
Bring 1 cup of water to a rolling boil, and pour it over 1 green tea bag. Multiple tea bags may be used for widespread flea bites. Allow the tea to steep for five minutes.
- Remove the tea bag
Remove the tea bag from the hot water, and place on a clean towel.
- Apply to flea bites
Once the tea bag is comfortable to touch, place it directly on flea bites. Secure with a bandage, and soak the bite for 10 to 15 minutes. The active compounds in green tea is believed to relieve skin irritation, inflammation and itch.
- Create a leave-on treatment
To reduce prolonged itch and inflammation, place 20 drops of lavender oil with 20 drops of basil oil in a small container. Stir the ingredients until thoroughly mixed.
- Massage the treatment into the bites
Dip your fingers into the oil, and massage directly into the flea bite. Lavender oil and basil oil offer inflammation and itch relief. Repeat as needed.
