Jennifer Convertibles guarantees its furniture from defects for one year from the item's delivery date. The guarantee covers items such as the wood frame, upholstery and seams, padding, springs and webbing, and recliner mechanisms. However, it does not cover damages due to careless use or natural wear and tear. Launched in 1975, Woodbury, New York-based Jennifer Convertibles Incorporated operates furniture retail stores under the names Jennifer Convertibles and Jennifer Leather in Connecticut, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Virginia.
Jennifer Convertibles covers all repairs when buyers report non-conforming furniture within seven days of delivery. The company restores the non-conforming furniture to manufacturer's standards within 60 days for locally made furniture and within 120 days for imported furniture. Buyers also have the option to exchange the product or return it for a full refund.
Within the one-year guarantee period, Jennifer Convertibles repairs faulty materials or workmanship at no cost to the customer. To execute the repair, the company may use comparable alternatives to replace defective fabric, leathers or components.
Jennifer Convertibles does not cover damages that occur due to handling when the buyer moves the product from its original delivery location or when the buyer picks up the item from the store. It also does not cover damages due to misuse or buyer negligence, such as damages that result from the use of harsh cleansers, abrasive cleaners or chemicals. The guarantee also does not cover normal wear and tear and normal product imperfections and variations. Normal wear and tear include wrinkling, fading, shrinking, pilling and stretching of the fabric or leather, as well as softening and loss of height of seat cushions. Normal product imperfections and variations on leather include lines, rubs, creases, color shading and scars.
