Replacement panels for Kenmore dishwashers are available from RepairClinic.com and PartSelect. Although Kenmore is a proprietary brand for Sears, other companies offer compatible replacement parts. Panels for some Whirlpool, Admiral, Maytag and Kenmore dishwashers are interchangeable, but owners should check verify compatibility with their model number before ordering.
To replace the door, remove the panel by turning off the circuit breaker for the dishwasher. Open the door slightly, and remove the screws that hold the control panel in place. Pull straight up to remove the control panel, and set it in a safe location. Place the palm of the hand against the front panel, and slide it until it is possible to slip the fingers under the front of the panel. Continue to lift and slide the panel until it is free from the door.
Insert the new panel into the slots on the door, and push it down until it fits firmly in position. Replace the control panel, and restore the power.
Many of the front panels on dishwashers are reversible. If the color of the appliance is out of date, check to see if the opposite side of the panel is an appropriate color for the kitchen. Follow the directions for removing and inserting the panel, but flip it to expose the new color.
