How Do You Replace a Sprayer on a Kitchen Faucet?

To replace a sprayer on a kitchen faucet, turn off the water supply to the kitchen sink, drain the faucet pipe, remove the sprayer head hose and spray head, and install a new kitchen faucet sprayer in the place of the old one. Turning the water supply back on and testing the new sprayer completes this process.

Start by gathering the necessary tools and materials, including a wrench, a Teflon tape and a replacement sprayer. Next, locate the water supply valve, which is typically located beneath the sink, and turn it off. Open the sink faucet to allow all water in the pipe to drain. Once the pipe is fully drained, pull the sprayer head hose from its position, and turn the spray head counter-clockwise until it comes off. If needed, use the wrench to loosen the nut that secures the head in place.

Next, pull and detach the hose from the sink, and follow up by disconnecting the hose from the water pipe by loosening off the attaching screw. Cover the threads of the new sprayer with the Teflon, insert the hose into the water pipe, and turn the hose clockwise until the connection is tight. Run the hose through the sink hole, tape the hose at the point where it connects with the spray head, and attach the spray head. Open the water supply valve, and test the new sprayer.
