Fold paper towels underneath the clothing article to absorb the ink as you remove it from the fabric. If you use cloth towels, choose those you do not mind absorbing ink stains.
Wet the stain with water to loosen the ink pigment. Removal is easier if you do not give the ink a chance to dry and set into the fabric.
Use several layers of folded towels to blot the stain. Add more water, and blot again. Continue wetting and blotting the stain until you are no longer able to remove anymore ink from the garment. Change the towel under the article once the water saturates it.
Apply a few drops of laundry detergent to the ink. Let the stained fabric sit for a few minutes to loosen the ink pigment.
Place the garment in the washing machine. Set the water temperature to the warmest the care label recommends. At the end of the wash cycle, check the garment to ensure the stain is gone before drying it.
