Laundry pre-treatment and liquid dish detergent can be used to remove a Gatorade stain from clothing or carpet. Oxygen bleach can be used to remove difficult stains.
To remove Gatorade stains from clothing, apply a commercial laundry pre-treatment product to the stain following the instructions on the packaging. Allow the pre-treatment to remain on the stain for the recommended amount of time, and then rinse. Reapply the pre-treatment as needed until the stain is gone.
To remove Gatorade stains from carpeting, mix 1/4 teaspoon of liquid dish detergent and a cup of warm water. Apply the cleaning solution to the stain beginning at the outside edge, and blot gently toward the center. Allow the detergent solution to remain on the carpet for 10 minutes, and blot the area with a clean cloth until the stain is gone. Rinse the area thoroughly with cool water, and soak up any excess moisture with a clean towel.
Oxygen bleach can be used to remove difficult stains from colorfast clothing and carpeting. Prepare a mixture of oxygen bleach and hot water using the recommended amount of powdered oxygen bleach. Mix thoroughly until the cleaner has dissolved. Gently apply the mixture to the stain with a clean cloth, and allow the cleaner to remain on carpeting for up to eight hours. Use a hot water extractor to remove the cleaning solution.
