Any recipe that involves the use of a traditional oven can be adapted to work in a halogen oven, with the only limitation being the size of the halogen oven. Some dishes suitable to prepare in a halogen oven include whole roasted chicken, roast potatoes, stuffed chicken breasts and chocolate brownies.
Prepare a roast chicken in a halogen oven by first washing the chicken and then patting it dry using a towel. Place a round baking pan under the lower rack of the cooking chamber, and place the chicken onto the rack. Combine 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of an herb seasoning, 1 teaspoon of black pepper and 2 teaspoons of sea salt in a small bowl, and brush the mixture over the chicken. Set the halogen oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit, and roast the chicken for about 60 minutes, or until it is golden brown and the juices run clear.
Make some crispy roast potatoes using a halogen oven by first peeling 8 potatoes and cutting them lengthwise. Parboil the potatoes for about 5 minutes, drain the water and make cuts in each of the potatoes approximately 3/4 of the way through the potato, spacing the cuts about 1/2 inch apart. Lay the potatoes cut side down in the roasting tray, drizzle with oil and add a pinch of sea salt and pepper, a dash of dried mustard and fresh thyme and rosemary. Roast for 20 minutes at 475 degrees Fahrenheit, and finish at 450 degrees for about 40 minutes.
