As of 2015, some the quietest dishwashers include the Bosch Benchmark Series Bar Handle Dishwasher, rated at 38 decibels, the Miele G 5915 SCi Diamond Series Dishwasher, rated at 37 decibels, and the Kenmore Elite Built-in Dishwasher, rated at 39 decibels. One decibel produces a 30-percent noise increase.
Dishwasher models rated from 41 to 50 decibels produce very little sound, but those over 60 decibels are approximately as loud as a normal conversation. The Bosch Benchmark Series Bar Handle Dishwasher uses spray arms to reduce noise by spraying water towards dishes, includes a solid molded base to reduce vibration and has a suspended two-pump motor system to minimize noise. Bosch is the quietest dishwasher brand when compared to other full-sized stainless steel tub dishwashers from major manufacturers.
The Miele G 5915 SCi Diamond Series Dishwasher produces 42 decibels under normal settings, but the rating drops to 37 decibels when the ExtraQuiet program is activated. The dishwasher also includes 15 other wash programs and has a capacity for 16 place settings. The Kenmore Elite Built-in Dishwasher is the brand's quietest dishwasher, and it includes the Energy Star label. It features 360-degree PowerWash Plus, Smart Dry and TurboZone technology for increased cleaning performance.
