To wash 100 percent cotton clothing and items, machine wash in cold or warm water. Hot water can shrink cotton.
Cotton has a reputation as an easy-to-care-for fabric. This natural fiber fabric can be laundered and dried in the regular laundry, with the exceptions of using hot water or drying on high heat unless shrinking is the desired outcome. Use regular laundry detergent and fabric softener. If the cotton item is stained, most brands of stain remover can safely be used without damaging the cotton fibers. When cotton gets wrinkles, it can be ironed with a medium-hot steam iron.
