To hang bathroom towels, either fold them neatly to hang on flat towel bars or drape them over coat-rack hooks. Flat towel bars have a more formal appearance than hooks.
To hang towels over a flat towel rack, fold the long edges under, then hang the towels with the smooth side facing out. Folding towels with the long edges tucked under makes them lie flatter because the edges often pull tighter from edge-stitching, and folding hides them.
To hang towels on a coat rack or coat hook, make a small fold along the center of the long edge and tuck the fold over the hook. Let the bulk of the towel's fabric drape loosely so air can get under it. This lets it dry without mildewing.
