All parts and components in a Whirlpool dishwasher are covered under the limited warranty as of 2015, with the exception of any light bulbs, water filters and air filters. However, the warranty only covers problems that result due to a defect in workmanship or materials.
Whirlpool offers the same limited warranty for each of its dishwashers and all other major appliances. This one-year limited parts and labor warranty states that Whirlpool must cover the costs of any factory-specified replacement parts and repair labor necessary to repair any defects covered under the written terms of the warranty. The warranty period begins on the date the dishwasher was purchased and only applies to the original owner. Whirlpool does not warrant against cosmetic damage or defects, unless they result from a problem in materials or workmanship.
All warranty service must be performed by a Whirlpool designated service company. When filing a warranty claim, it is necessary to show the original proof of purchase to verify the dishwasher is still under warranty. The Whirlpool major appliance warranty is only valid for products purchased and used in either the United States or Canada. In addition, the warranty is only valid for products used in the original country of purchase.
