Paint tiles by first thoroughly cleaning, sanding and removing the sanding debris. Clean the tiles using an abrasive bathroom cleaning to remove mildew and soap scum build up. After cleaning, wipe the surface thoroughly with a wet sponge to remove residue, and allow the surface to dry. Sand the surface with fine grit paper until gloss is removed. Electric palm sanders sand the surface quickly and are preferred over hand-sanding. Remove the sanding debris with a wet cloth.
