An overhead garage door is a type of garage door that is made up of hinged sections. This allows the door to open and close by moving up and down tracks, usually going toward a garage's ceiling when opened fully. It is also occasionally called a "sectional" garage door.
Overhead garage doors are generally popular for their convenience and durability. They are usually made of steel and sometimes incorporate additional insulation materials. Despite being broken up into separate sections, they are often more effective at separating indoor and outdoor temperatures than single-piece garage doors, especially when they include extra insulation.
