To remove orange soda from carpeting, clean the spill with club soda, dish detergent or ammonia. The process takes just a few minutes; however, removing the stain may require several treatments if the stain has dried.

  1. Remove excess moisture

Use a dry towel or paper towels to remove any excess moisture from the carpet. Begin blotting the stain at the outside edge of the spill, working toward the center until the carpet is as dry as possible.

  2. Rinse the area

If the stain is fresh, pour a small amount of club soda or warm water on the stain without saturating the carpet. Blot the stained area with a dry towel.

  3. Clean the stain with detergent

If the stain is still visible after treating it with club soda, mix a tablespoon of liquid dish detergent with 2 cups of warm water, and pour a small amount of this detergent mixture on the stain. Allow it to sit for 5 minutes, and rinse the carpet with warm water.

  4. Apply ammonia to the stain

To treat persistent stains on very light or colorfast carpets, mix 1/4 cup of ammonia and 1 cup of warm water. Pour a small amount of the solution on the stain, and rinse with warm water. Dry the carpet after cleaning.
