One-row planters equipped with three-point hitches can be found at numerous places, including ColePlanter.com, AgriSupply.com and John Deere. Depending on the vendor's inventory availability, models may vary in price, construction and features.
Cole Planter's 12 MX Multiflex works as a planter or fertilizer. Its cast iron presswheel firms the seedbed while leaving the soil loose over the seeds. It comes with four seed plates and gears for different spacing and seed types. Uniform planting and fast germination are promoted by the unit's deep V seed opener. The Multiflex's separate fertilizer hopper and variable controls allow it to accurately spread 34 to 650 pounds of fertilizer per acre.
John Deere manufactures several different types of three-point hitch one-row planters. Many of its units are produced for planting only without fertilizer capability. The John Deere 7000 can plant multiple seed types and fits almost any size tractor, including lawn tractor models equipped with tree-point hitches. Deere's 71 and 71 Flex models are designed for planting corn only.
Agri Supply offers a few different designs, including one that is very similar Cole's 12 MX Multiflex, except it only has three seed plates and smaller hoppers. The company also stocks a Covington TP46 planter that has five seed plates with multiple corn options and a vibrating spreader for easier fertilizer application.
