Full Answer

The UL Fire Resistance Directory consists of three volumes total, although the second volume has two parts. Hourly fire ratings for walls, columns, roofs, floors and beams are in the first volume. The second and third volumes cover hourly ratings for fire doors, glazing materials, through-penetration firestop systems, duct assemblies and joint systems.

Database.UL.com is the online home of the UL Fire Resistance Directory, which is free to search. It contains all of the information in the print version, except UL updates it daily. To use the online certifications directory, which contains fire resistance ratings, enter a design number under a category, such as thermal barrier systems or roof deck construction.

Each category page features search hints, with numbering information for corresponding designs. To search within a series, enter the associated alpha character, the first numeric character and an asterisk, such as L5*. Consult the search hints to identify alphanumeric data for the related category.

Series searches contain company names by design numbers and a link to the file containing the actual UL hourly fire resistance rating. Click Refine Your Search to narrow results by category code, the company name, its physical address and its registration standard.
