Norge washing machines were manufactured by the Norge Appliance Company, which was originally a division of Borg Warner before being sold to Fedders. The Norge brand has been defunct since 2005.
The company is almost as well known for its World War II era advertising campaigns during its heyday in the 1940s as it is for its appliances. In addition to household appliances, the company also manufactured guns and airplane parts. Additionally, its original parent company, Borg Warner, was actually an auto parts manufacturer. The Norge Appliance Company was purchased by Magic Chef in 1974 and was later passed on to Maytag and then to Whirlpool before the brand was discontinued.
