Anyone wishing to calibrate a Whirlpool oven thermostat only needs a screwdriver. To test the calibration, a food to be cooked in the oven, such as biscuits, should also be available.
In some ovens, the temperature calibration control is in the back of the oven and is held in place by screws. These screws must be removed to adjust the temperature. After removing and replacing the screws, testing is done by cooking the food. In ovens with a digital display, temperature calibration is usually done by pressing a combination of buttons. The right combination is usually available in the owner's manual.
