Mounting deer antlers onto a board can be completed in just a few minutes with the right tools. In order to mount deer antlers, you will need a drill, a hammer, a skull mount, drywall screws, brass tacks, rope and a glue gun.
- Drill and mount the skull to the skull mount
Use your drill to create three holes in the skull. These holes should be large enough to be used with drywall screws. Once you create the holes, line them up with your skull mount, and insert the drywall screws. Tighten the screws until the skull is secured to the mount.
- Cover the mount and hammer in tacks
Place the cover that came with your mount on top of the mount so that the antlers are exposed. Using a hammer and some tacks, nail the cover in place on top of the mount. Most covers for skull mounts have holes in their surfaces designed for the insertion of these tacks.
- Adorn with rope and glue
Wrap the rope around the antlers in a style that you like, and use the glue gun to place little dots at the contact points. Press the rope firmly until it dries in place.
