The Monitor 2400 heating system is a kerosene heating system rated to heat a 1,400- to 2,200-square-foot home on 2 to 4 gallons of kerosene per winter day. It requires 120 volt electricity and uses K-1 kerosene or high quality, low sulphur No. 1 stove oil. Weighing 82 pounds when empty, the Monitor 2400 is 25.5 inches high, 21 inches wide and 12.5 inches deep. Features include a child safety lock and seven-day programmable temperatures.
Other features of the Monitor 2400 heating system include an automatic reset after a power failure and two separate fans for air circulation. According to marketing materials, it is thermostatically controlled and will adjust to the desired air temperature. Its automatic setback feature enables programming to change temperatures at specific times of day and indicator lights come on to indicate when the timer is activated and the burner is operating.
The Monitor 2400 is touted as being 93 percent energy efficiency and its sealed combustion system is said to eliminate all fumes or trace of kerosene. Combustion air is brought into the sealed unit from outside and exhaust gases expelled outside. It is recommended that the Monitor 2400 be used with a minimum 220 gallon storage tank.
