The Dyson fan recall effects model numbers AM04 and AM05. These models are made up of a round base and lozenge-shaped looped body, and they also come with a remote control.
Approximately 338,000 of these models were sold in the United States. Retailers selling these models included Bed Bath & Beyond, Lowe's, Walmart, Home Depot and Target. These devices were sold in the United States from September 2011 to March 2014. They were sold in a variety of color options, including grey, blue, black, white and silver. Both the AM04 and AM05 measure in at 23 inches high, 8 inches deep and 8 inches wide with the base attached. These models were manufactured in Malaysia by ATA Industrial.
AM04 and AM05 were recalled due to a potential electrical short. Such a short can cause the device to overheat and potentially cause a fire. A total of 82 confirmed incidents have been acknowledged by the Dyson company. Four of these cases have led to internal device burning. No injuries or property damage is associated with these reports.
